CM Wong on e-bike safety after fatal Queensborough Bridge crash
Phil Wong raises a fatal e-bike/scooter collision on Queensborough Bridge involving a device capable of 53 mph, asking what DOT and the Finance Committee can do to enforce speed limits and ban high-speed e-scooters.

Commissioner Flynn, at the last hearing, I was asking about how can we, as the committee, how can DOT improve the safety of
pedestrians from e-bike accidents and unfortunately I got to talk about it again today because yesterday
830 there were there was a e-bike that had a head-on collision with a scooter on Queensborough Bridge and unfortunately both both men were killed
I looked at the pictures and based upon what I saw, the e-bike involved was this Blade GT2, which has a speed of up to 53 miles per hour.
And I asked this before and here I am again, what can we do?
do is the finance committee and what can you do as DOT to enforce speed limits and why are these high speed e-scooters be allowed to be on the streets?
