Flynn on public space and open streets baseline funding
Flynn announces $6.4M in baseline investments starting FY27 for open streets, transforming asphalt into opportunity and meeting community demand for safe, lively public spaces.
Enhancing public space.
As mentioned, safety is our top priority when determining design treatments, and our public spaces are a critical transportation asset, supporting social, economic, and cultural exchange at the pedestrian level.
This budget includes an additional $6.4 million of baseline investments starting in FY27 in open streets, which transform asphalt into opportunity.
This funding helps us meet the strong demand we're seeing from communities to keep these spaces safe, lively, and welcoming, thereby enhancing quality of life for residents as well as retail sales for small businesses.
