Lee on 34th Street ferry landing reconstruction
Lee asks about $38M for reconstructing the 34th Street ferry landing. Peck confirms it's critical for safety and capacity, with construction staged to minimize disruption and the stop remaining open.
And onto the ferries.
We see there's an additional $38 million across FY29 to 2031 to support reconstruction of the 34th Street ferry landing.
Is that considered critical to improving safety for passenger operators?
Is that correct?
Yes, the 34th Street landing has always been a popular landing, and it's been very crowded in terms of queuing and sort of safety and accommodation.
Also, our recent ferry optimization has increased the way we've optimized the way the boats go from station to station,
has increased the need for greater capacity at that site.
So that's what we'll be addressing.
Do you know the scope of the work and the timeline for the reconstruction?
