While we have been working to implement and expand protections afforded to New Yorkers, we have also been fighting harder than ever before.

We started 2026 by launching a robust compliance blitz, sending notices to various industries, reminding them of their obligations under the law and the repercussions that arise from noncompliance.

This past January, we exposed Uber and DoorDash for deceptive design tricks that made it harder for consumers to tip delivery workers, driving down worker pay by more than half a billion dollars in New York City alone.

We have shown major corporations that there are consequences for violating our laws, and we are actively seeking millions of penalties and restitution from numerous predatory businesses for exploiting and cheating New Yorkers.

These efforts span across our work, delivering real results for consumers, workers, and small businesses alike.
