Felder asks about community policing, cameras, and bicycle licensing

So first of all, I want to thank your colleague here who spent hours at the hearings on anti-Semitism, listening to questions and answering them.

I've never, ever been at a hearing when someone...

In terms of my questions, if you could just, if somebody could let me know.

Number one, I'd like to know in terms of the community policing, if somebody could let me know if there's a particular person that...

It's assigned to the district.

I don't know how exactly it works.

I'd like to know who that person is so that I could call.

The other thing is that for years ago, they used to have a program where they had

officers, for example, that looked not great, but looked like me, for example,

policing, you know, were actually cops walking around that looked like Orthodox Jews.

And, you know, I think that the concept, when they publicized it, that alone was helpful.

I'm curious why that has not been used in terms of fighting anti-Semitism.

That's two, three years ago.

I don't know how many.

I think it's about 15 years ago.

They installed certain cameras on top of the lights to fight crime.

I don't know if those cameras are operational or not.

And finally, when I was in the Senate about four years, five years ago, I sponsored a bill to actually have insurance.

and licenses and other things, you know, on certain bicycles, even regular bicycles.

And I've seen some talk about it, and I'd like to know what the, you know, whether the police department

you know, has any opinions on it.

And I thank you very, very much for everything that you're doing.
