Lee and Ryan discuss executive plan savings breakdown

New York City Council · Jun 1, 2026 · starts 0:52:09 · 49 sec

Lee asks how executive plan savings of $9.3M in FY26 work with overtime additions. Ryan explains the savings include $19M in uniform overtime savings plus PS accruals, vehicle capitalization, and civilian headcount reductions.

Linda Lee

The executive plan includes savings of $9.3 million in FY26, and how does the savings work with overtime additions that were included in the preliminary plan?

Christine Ryan

So part of that savings actually did include uniform overtime savings of $19 million on the city side.

Christine Ryan

The overall budget did include some additional federal funding.

Christine Ryan

So we are still, as the commissioner indicated earlier, achieving savings year over year in overtime through our overtime management plan.

Christine Ryan

The additional other savings were just PS accruals as well as capitalization of the vehicles, as the commissioner mentioned.

Christine Ryan

And we had the civilian savings that were taken that resulted in headcount reductions as well.

Linda Lee

Okay, thank you.
