Chair Cabán on state youth clubhouse funding for NYC

New York City Council · Jun 5, 2026 · starts 3:03:42 · 1 min 26 sec

Cabán asks about the 15 state youth clubhouses and whether NYC will receive funding. Jamie Nichols explains these are OASIS clubhouses—nine exist in NYC and will be eligible to apply for expansion dollars, though it's a state investment.

Tiffany L. Cabán

Can you tell us, I know it's, what, 13 at the state?

Tiffany L. Cabán

Is that the number that they just added money for?

Tiffany L. Cabán

Oh, for the youth?

Tiffany L. Cabán

Yeah.

Tiffany L. Cabán

Was it 15?

Tiffany L. Cabán

15.

Tiffany L. Cabán

Do you know how much money that is?

Tiffany L. Cabán

And also, is the city asking for a portion of that pot of money to come directly to the city?

Dr. Alistair Martin

I'm going to pass it to Jamie Nichols to talk about the program a little bit more.

Dr. Alistair Martin

In terms of the budget, we can circle back on that.

Tiffany L. Cabán

I'm going to pass it again because Bertie just whispered in my ear.

Jamie Nichols

These are Oasis clubhouses.

Jamie Nichols

So it's a great model.

Jamie Nichols

So what they've done is across the state, there's nine recovery clubhouses in New York City.

Jamie Nichols

That's where the OSF funding went for additional peers.

Jamie Nichols

They are expanding it so that now clubhouses or recovery centers will be able to serve youth as well.

Jamie Nichols

So really excited about it.

Jamie Nichols

I work really closely with the Oasis folks.

Jamie Nichols

It's not a city investment, but it'll definitely benefit so many New Yorkers.

Tiffany L. Cabán

So it's not a city.

Tiffany L. Cabán

We're not going to see any of that added funding for New York City residents.

Jamie Nichols

It's going to be from the state, but for all the nine clubhouses in New York City, they're going to be eligible to go for those dollars so that they can expand services.

Tiffany L. Cabán

Yeah, I guess that's my question is like how much of that money may we see?

Jamie Nichols

We can follow up with the R.

Jamie Nichols

Yeah.

Jamie Nichols

I mean, it's on the OASIS website, but yeah, we could share.

Tiffany L. Cabán

Great.
