Chair Joseph on OMB rationale for not baselining programs
Joseph asks whether CUNY has emphasized the importance of evidence-based programs to OMB and whether there is a rationale for not baselining them. The Chancellor says CUNY does not know the rationale and that ASAP has been replicated in nine states.
Has CUNY emphasized the importance of funding evidence-based programs that dramatically improve student outcomes such as ACE, ASAP, and CONVERGENCE?
Conversations with OMB, is CUNY aware of any rationale for why the funding of these programs was not included and baseline, and how can this council support CUNY's need for these funding?
So part of the question is no, we don't know the rationale.
We, in both ASAP and ACE, these are programs, ASAP is replicated in nine stages.
SUNY is actually building up an entire ASAP component sort of doing the work that we're doing.
So we think that the results are fairly obvious in terms of the impact that it has.
So if they work, we must continue to fund them to bring people through the doors.
