Chair Lee questions $15M restoration campus allocation
Lee begins Q&A asking how the $15 million in restored operating support was allocated across community college campuses in FY26 and whether the same split will apply in FY27. COO Batista provides the breakdown by campus.
Thank you so much, and definitely appreciate the abbreviated testimony.
So I love it, and we have it all here, which is good, too.
We've been joined by Councilmember Brewer and Epstein, as well as Areola on Zoom.
So really quickly, I'm going to try to go through these so I can pass it on to the chair and our members.
For the FY27 executive budget, there's a restoration and baselining, as we mentioned, of $15 million starting in FY27.
The funding is a restoration from FY26.
How was the funding used in FY26, and what was the college campus allocation breakdown, if you have that?
And will the funding be split between campuses in the same way for FY27?
So let me defer to our CFO here for the answer.
Sure.
Thank you for that question.
The money, the money,
$15 million was spread out among the community colleges.
You want me to read out the numbers to you?
If you can, yes.
No, no problem.
BMCC, 4.6 million.
Bronx Community College, 1.4.
Gutman, about 270,000.
Hostos, a million.
Kingsborough, 2.5.
LaGuardia, 3 million.
And Queensborough, 2 million.
Perfect, okay.
I'm rounding those numbers.
I'm sorry?
I'm rounding those numbers.
Oh, okay, got it.
Perfect, thank you.
