Linda Lee

We've been joined by Councilmember Hudson, and now we have Deputy Speaker, followed by Hudson.

Speaker

Good afternoon.

Speaker

Good afternoon.

Speaker

Almost afternoon.

Speaker

York College is an important institution in Southeast Queens.

Speaker

Are there any planned investments, program expansions, or workforce development initiatives specifically impacting York students and the surrounding community?

Félix Matos Rodríguez

Well, thank you, Dr.

Félix Matos Rodríguez

Williams, for your question.

Félix Matos Rodríguez

And I am very happy that in the second wave of CUNY Beyond, which is really our

Félix Matos Rodríguez

innovative strategy to be able to make sure that our students are thinking about careers and getting ready for careers since day one,

Félix Matos Rodríguez

that in the next, the second wave, of course, is your college is one of the schools that are being identified, which will mean that should we be receiving additional funding from, say, in the city, it would go to your college for investment.

Félix Matos Rodríguez

And it's also a badge of distinction for your college as they go seek to talk to employers and get philanthropic dollars.

Félix Matos Rodríguez

So we really feel that that designation is going to be really, really instrumental to York in terms of enrollment and all those factors.

Speaker

Okay.
