CM Epstein questions OMB on street vendor and delivery worker outreach funding
Epstein asks why no funding was included for nonprofit organizations doing outreach to street vendors and delivery workers in multiple languages. Solomon notes SBS received funding for multilingual outreach to mobile food vending, and that direct nonprofit funding would be a Schedule C conversation for adoption.
I'm wondering why there was no funding put in to ensure that the appropriate outreach and the language capacity by the organizations that are doing that outreach has been funded to support this work.

Street vendors, we did add over a number of agencies, including SBS to do the outreach in multiple languages.
So I was talking about nonprofit organizations who have the relationships already with the street vendors and the delivery workers.
Those are the people who are the critical infrastructure here, and there's no funding in the budget to ensure they have the resources to talk about the additional laws.
Well, the direct funding that would go towards organizations would be a conversation for Schedule C as part of ADOPT as direct to those organizations.
But we did make sure that we went through the small business services to make sure that they have the money, they have the funding they need to ensure that they can do outreach in multiple languages to the mobile food vending community.
