CM Marte questions OMB on Ombudsman Call Center (OCC) and CRI funding
Marte asks about the OCC budget ($7.5 million in FY27-28, dropping to $2.5 million in FY29-30) and why CRI funding decreases in out years. Staff explain the first two years include one-time costs and funding will be reevaluated annually.
You know, we were excited about the news about the CRI, which is based off the Ombudsman Call Center, but just wanted to know what's the total fiscal 2027 budget for OCC?
For fiscal 27, it's $7.5 million.
Fiscal 28, $7.5 million.
Then 29, $2.5.
And obviously, we'll see how the out years go with respect to funding.
Okay.
And I have a question about the out years because we see a decrease.
increase for CRI as well.
You know, I think they're funded 7.5 million for fiscal year 2027, 2028, but then it drops to 2.5 million in 2029 and 2030.
Why does this funding decrease in those outer years?
Yeah, so that's the one that we just referenced, but in terms of the funding dropping in fiscal 29?
I think the first two years there are some one-time costs that are being picked up, and then we'll be reevaluating on a year-by-year basis.
Okay.
All right.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Okay, Councilmember Hankerson, followed by Councilmember Mealy, and then we'll take a break.
I'm sorry about that.
