Morano on LGBTQ+ veteran discharge statistics under DADT
Morano presents statistics on LGBTQ+ service members discharged between 1980 and 1993 and under DADT, noting over 13,000 were denied benefits, recognition, and dignity despite their service.
Let me say a word or two and an observation or two.
about our LGBTQ plus veterans.
Between 1980 and 1993, over 19,000 LGBTQ plus service members were discharged,
many with other than honorable statuses and under don't ask, don't tell, more than 13,000 were denied benefits, recognition and dignity.
And you think about that.
These people are just in need of the GI Bill.
These people are just as much in need of health care, of housing.
And to think that they were denied anything that should be rightly given to a veteran who has risked their lives in the service of our country, it's abominable.
