Chair Salaam asks what more the panelists want to see from intergovernmental coordination. Sabarak urges more coordination on prevention, policy, and education between the mayoral administration and City Council. Regarding intergovernmental coordination, do you have anything that you may want to elaborate regarding that space?
Regarding intergovernmental coordination.
Yeah, in terms of working with them, what would you like to see more of, preventing hate and things of that nature?
Certainly there should be more coordination amongst the different government agencies and institutions.
We specifically would like to see them working more closely together on prevention and things like policy and education.
I think that is a core piece that is important for a city like New York that has a mayoral administration and a co-equal branch that is the city council.
And for me, our programs, our classroom programs are supported longstanding partnership through the city council and then our mobile museums of tolerance are supported through the state.
And as it relates to our classroom programming, we'd love to be able to partner with more council districts and bring our programs to as many public schools across the five boroughs as we possibly can.
