Dinowitz critiques low feedback response rate from parents
Dinowitz notes that 6,491 responses represents less than 1% of parents, calling it a very low percentage compared to the parent survey which has significantly higher response rates. Junta agrees and says DOE supplemented with targeted conversations with advocates, labor, parent leadership, and elected officials.

And you have, that's not a question, I'm just sharing.
That's, I would say, a very low percentage.
I'm sure many council members will have a lot to say about the people who helped develop the guidance.
And that's compared to the parent survey, which has significantly higher, and you do a lot of work, a lot of good work, to make sure parents fill out that survey.
So I would think a response rate of less than 1% isn't, I don't know, ideal.
Parents have a lot to say, rightfully so.
This is the future of our children, the future of our city.
And I couldn't agree with you more.
I think you were, given the amount of conversation that we're having about it, we thought, I certainly would have thought we had more, but we did intentionally then make sure that part of our feedback process is included.
Specific conversations around this with advocates, with labor, with parent leadership structures, with our elected.
And so, you know, and really making sure we're listening, even the PEP comments became feedback for us.
