Danielle Junta

Thank you.

Danielle Junta

Thank you, Chair Dinowitz, Chair De La Rosa, and members of the Committees of Education and Technology.

Danielle Junta

Good morning to our council members.

Danielle Junta

My name is Danielle Junta.

Danielle Junta

I am the first deputy chancellor of New York City Public Schools, serving under the chancellor of Kamar Samuels.

Danielle Junta

Prior to this role, I was a teacher, network leader, superintendent, and most recently, chief of school leadership development.

Danielle Junta

But my favorite role in New York City Public Schools was as a student.

Danielle Junta

I am a graduate of New York City Public Schools.

Danielle Junta

I now oversee superintendents and key offices, including academics and instruction, district planning, enrollment, new school development and design, policy and evaluation, and student pathways.

Danielle Junta

I'm also joined today by supervising superintendents, Dr.

Danielle Junta

Alan Chang and Dr.

Danielle Junta

Maribel Huller, who work directly with our superintendents and their school communities across the city.

Danielle Junta

And because AI spans multiple divisions and areas of expertise, I am also joined by colleagues from data privacy, the Division of Instructional and Information Technology, early childhood education, and the Division of Inclusive and Accessible Learning.
