Farías asks about long-term housing outcomes for LGBTQ youth. Ascherl reports 15% returned home, 20% found other residences, 12% transitioned to independent living, and 42% received crisis or supportive services, with five-year trend data to follow up.
Can you folks describe any long-term housing outcomes, if we have that data, for LGBTQ
youth who participate in the DYCD-funded programs, and if we know how many LGBTQ youth successfully transition into permanent housing each year for the last five years or three years?
So according to the most recent data concerning long-term housing, we have 15% of our young people were returned home.
And 20% had established other residents, whether it was through friends or relatives.
We had 12% that transitioned into independent.
living and then we also we had 42% that received a variety of services including crisis services foster home care DHS shelters and supportive housing
and then there were some that were unknown for us and then
we have a more detailed report that we can make available.
We don't have the information readily available for like the five-year trend, and we're going to look into that and make that available for you.
That would be extremely helpful, obviously, as we're trying to see where trends are and where more resources need to go.
Every budget fight requires this kind of data to look into, so that would be really helpful.
