Riley introduces Monitor Point proposal in Brooklyn
Riley describes the Monitor Point proposal in Councilmember Restler's district, involving a zoning map amendment, text amendment, large-scale special permit, and city map change to facilitate a waterfront mixed-use development with a USS Monitor museum, market-rate building, and 100% affordable housing building on MTA-controlled land.
Today we are voting on three proposals referred by our zoning subcommittee, and I want to thank Chair Lewis and Chair Marte for their ongoing leadership on our subcommittees.
Today we will vote to approve with modifications LU 67, 68, 69, and 71 related to the monitor point proposal in Councilmember Ressler's district in Brooklyn.
The proposal includes a zoning map amendment, zoning text amendment, large-scale special permit, and a change to the city map,
which together will facilitate a waterfront mixed-use development that will include a museum building for the USS Monitor and a market rate building with MIH affordable housing and a 100% affordable housing building.
