Support Councilmember Thomas Henry's issue on the dim areas on the 7th train on Roosevelt Avenue.
But I'm also concerned about the trestles like under the CSX or the Long Island Railroad tracks where clearly there's some inadequate illumination in my district and other places.
My question is, are those areas, can the DOT work on it to improve the illumination?
Or that's not city property and there's not much you could do about it.
Can you please talk about it?
Yeah, no, as long as it's going over our right-of-way, we would have the ability to go take a look and see if we need to add lighting there, see if it's sufficient.
So if you have locations, we can certainly evaluate.
Yeah, because specifically as the lifespan of these fixtures, as they approach the end of life, they get dimmer.
And then when there's so many fixtures, they all get dim, either time to replace them or upgrade them, because that's an issue.
And quite often that leads to a lot of tracks, graffiti or crime and other issues.
So I'll work with your office on that.
But I support this bill.
