Hanif asks about 12K training target, current placements, and gap
Hanif asks how many New Yorkers have been connected to green economy occupations against the 12,000 target. Perry says approximately 1,500 through PINC, 350+ through pre-apprenticeship, 17 youth apprentices at city agencies. Hanif notes these numbers are nowhere near 12,000 and asks how the gap will be closed by 2040.

So we at Talent work across the entire system.
As I mentioned in the testimony, we had about approximately 1,500 people through the PINK program connected to union and prevailing wage jobs.
We also work very closely with our colleagues at SBS who have funding for pre-apprenticeship programming.
And I think to date, over 350 people since the release of the plan or since FY24 have been connected to pre-apprenticeship.
Are these numbers available publicly?
We've reported on the, we just celebrated an exciting milestone of 1,300 for pink, and so we've reported on that publicly through that press release we just issued.
It's now closer to 1,500.
Some of the other numbers through community hiring, for example, those numbers will be reported publicly.

So what is, how are you all thinking about how you reach 12,000 New Yorkers?
Yeah, so.
The timeline in the plan itself was to 2040.
Obviously, there's also been the impacts, as we've been noting, of the federal government.
However, we're laying the groundwork for a lot of that work as well for really increasing equitable opportunities.
And I'd say through the negotiations.
of our project labor agreements, which cover tens of billions of dollars of construction work over the next many, many years across the city, making sure that there are pathways there for New Yorkers to get connected to jobs in the construction sector.
So through community hiring and setting goals on those PLAs, that's a really strong opportunity to maximize connecting New Yorkers.
I would be very interested to see a better breakdown of
how that 2040 goal of 12,000 placements will be reached.
I think 1,300 number is very low, and I don't know if that happened
If that's a 2026 number or if that's a since 2023 number, would be great to know how you're assessing and evaluating the placements.
I mean, I think having a number deems us to ask, you know, how you got there and how are you going to get there?
