Brewer on Cecile Richards street co-naming and 9/11 biographical project
Council Member Brewer thanks her staff, acknowledges 15 interns, and gives full credit to Cecile Richards for her Planned Parenthood and civil rights work. She thanks Deborah Van Herens, Carol Portlock, and Richards' husband Kirk Adams for making the 83rd Street co-naming possible.
Very quickly, I do want to thank Cynthia Hornick from my office for all her work on the budget.
Number two, we had 15 interns here.
They all left, but they will have lunch with me tomorrow.
And so I want to thank them.
And finally, just quickly, I didn't have a chance when I was talking about Cecile.
Please keep it down in the chamber.
Let the council members speak.
Thank you.
When I was talking about Cecile Richards, Cecile Richards Way on 83rd Street, I didn't give her full credit.
All the work she did at Planned Parenthood, a civil rights leader, and to thank two people, Deborah Van Herens and Carol Portlock, for their persistence in making this sign possible, and very especially her husband,
Kirk Adams, for making it also possible.
We will miss her tremendously.
I knew her mom, and I know she fell in the same category of an amazing woman in our country.
Thank you very much.
