Chair Williams introduces Res 5 and Res 15 on U.S. 250th anniversary and Freedom Day
Chair Williams introduces the two previously heard resolutions: Res 5 commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States, and Res 15 declaring July 2 as Freedom Day.

I am Deputy Speaker Nantasha Williams, Chair of the Committee on Cultural Affairs, Libraries, and International Relations.
Today, the committee will vote on two resolutions, which have already been heard.
Resolution number five, sponsored by the Speaker and Councilmember Carr, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the U.S.
Resolution number 15, sponsored by Councilmember Areola, which would declare July 2nd annually in the City of New York as Freedom Day to commemorate the anniversary of the vote of the Second Continental Congress to declare independence from Great
Britain in 1776.
