The Public School 15 Annex represents a distinctive design by James Naughton, the prolific superintendent of public school buildings in Brooklyn in the last quarter of the 19th century.
From the 1920s to the 1940s, the building served as a headquarters of the influential Brooklyn Girls Continuation School, a pioneering institution that expanded educational, economic, and social opportunities for young women.
