Speaker Julie Menin reports on yesterday's 10-hour hearing on Romange's Law, named after Romange Mahajan who died after being thrown from a horse-drawn carriage in Central Park. She thanks Council Member Shulman and all who attended, and notes the Council will consider amendments as the process continues.

Good afternoon, everyone, on this very hot and hazy day.
So this has been a very busy week, to put it mildly, for the City Council.
Yesterday we held a hearing on Romange's Law, named after Romange Mahajan, who tragically died after he was thrown from a horse-drawn carriage in Central Park last month.
We heard very compelling testimony from his family, from animal welfare advocates, from TWU, from drivers, medallion owners.
And I really, first of all, want to thank Councilmember Shulman for sharing that marathon.
I think it was 10 hours it clocked in at the end.
10-Hour hearing and all the council members who turned out, and I look forward to hearing thoughts from additional council members as we go through this process and as we consider any amendments and additional language to the bill.
And thank you to Council Member Marte as well.
