Speaker Menin: Land use items overview including rezonings and park site selection
Speaker Menin outlines four land use items: 50-20 108th Street rezoning (196 units, 51 affordable), 6302 Fresh Pond Road rezoning (54 units, 13 affordable), Queens CD2 Walk to Park site selection, and Flatiron Nomad Major Concessions expansion.
And now we're going to move on to our stated agenda.
We have a long agenda, everyone, so just bear with me here.
First, we're going to vote on the following land use items.
50-20 108th Street rezoning will facilitate the development of two new mixed-use buildings with 196 dwelling units, 51 of which will be permanently affordable under MIH Option 1 in Councilmember Thomas Henry's district.
The Council is modifying this application to strike MIH Option 2 and to reduce the rezoning area to preserve existing small homes that are not within the proposed development.
6302 Fresh Pond Road rezoning will enable the development of a new seven-story mixed-use building with 54 dwelling units, 13 of which will be permanently affordable under MIH Option 1 in Councilmember Wong's district.
The Council is modifying this application to strike MIH Option 2.
Queen's CD2 Walk to Park Site Selection will facilitate the site selection and potential acquisition of 31
privately owned properties by the Department of Parks in collaboration with the Department of Citywide Administrative Services as part of a citywide plan to support a more
equitable distribution of open space.
These acquisitions will facilitate the creation of new parkland in the districts of Council Members Krishnan and Wan.
Flatiron Nomad Major Concessions will improve the expansion of the existing Flatiron District concession area boundaries in the districts of Council Members Wilson and Epstein.
