I take the six bus every day, and every day the MTA investigators hold my bus for about 15 minutes and ask an entire bus full of working class people to show how we paid.

Late means both my kids are late to school, I'm late to work.

As I said earlier, I'm a tenant organizer working at a nonprofit.

It's not even 8.30 a.m.
And I've already been penalized just for being poor.

And when I get to work, I see how that same systemic neglect plays out inside our homes.
I spend the majority of my day working directly with buildings where our Bronx organizes TAs.

And all day long, I hear about how our members deal with black mold in their entire bathroom, how they try to speak to the superintendent about an emergency, etc., etc.

I'll end here by saying that the Saber Homes Act addresses this exact imbalance of power.

landlords who allow serious building problems and health hazards to continue, we need to pass Saver Homes Act and COPA now.
