Feliz strongly disagrees with CTO's framing of outage awareness
Feliz challenges the framing that the issue was only learned at 9:30 a.m., arguing alarm call issues at 6:40 a.m. warranted public notification. He states that when calls aren't going through, the public should be notified immediately so they can seek alternative help. Gelobter acknowledges communication procedures need revisiting.
Some of my colleagues have additional questions.
And respectfully, I know you and your team have done everything on this issue, everything within your power, but I just have to strongly disagree with that framing of the issue.
It seems like there were technical issues that you were aware of by 640, I think, a notice to the public, letting the public know that some calls aren't going through and that there are issues.
I think...
That would have been helpful to the public, and I think that is a better framing of the issue.
We learned about a potential, we learned about an outage by 6.40 a.m., or at least a partial outage by 6.40.
For alarm company calls, yes.
Okay.
Have we had any, do you think it makes sense to inform the public about outages?
