Public testimony: Jessica opposes tower, cites tree removal and backyard impact
Jessica, a ground-floor resident at 2128 45th Road whose backyard backs up to TD Bank, opposes the tower scale. She notes the developer already removed a tree covering her yard without notice and prefers a lower, more residential building with community give-backs.
Hello, this is Jess.
Hello.
Okay, we'll start with Jessica.
Are you ready?
Oh, great.
Yeah, sorry about that.
No problem.
You may begin.
Hi.
So I'm in 2128 45th Road along with Melissa.
I'm on the ground floor, though.
My backyard backs up to the TD Bank.
And similar to what everyone else was saying, you know, it does block.
That's one kind of aesthetic thing.
But I think from, you know, the point of view of how the neighborhood functions and...
who's going to be coming there and how, you know, we want to be able to give back to the neighborhood.
If it were a lower building, more residential in nature, along with some, you know, piece of give back, that would really be useful.
And also having the connection to PS1 right there.
It just seems like such a high tower doesn't seem to fit within.
The neighborhood aesthetic.
You know, that aside from the fact that our backyard backs up to the TD Bank, they've already pulled out a tree that covered our yard that was quite beautiful without telling us, which obviously it's not our tree, but it was unfortunate.
And I just, you know, don't want to see a huge building back there for the rest of our lives.
So that's all I have to say.
I'm at work currently, so I had to take a little time out to do this, but think it's really important.
So thank you.
Thank you for making time, Jessica.
