Councilmember Hanks praises Wong's legislative work before casting her vote
Kamillah Hanks thanks the chair and commends Councilmember Wong for diligently addressing concerns raised at the Democratic conference, calling him a good legislator. She thanks committee staff and enthusiastically votes yes.
Mr.
Chair, I'd wish to speak for a moment on the bill.
Chair, you don't need my permission.
Okay, well, Mr.
Chair, I'd like to thank you for your very gracious remarks at the outset of the hearing.
And, yeah, I really do appreciate that.
And Councilmember Wong, you described this as a little bill.
I think it's a big bill.
That's going to have a big difference, as you say.
And like the chair said, you worked very hard to make sure all the wrinkles were straightened out.
I was at the DEM conference when this was talked about, and a lot of people had some issues.
But you work very assiduously to make sure that everybody's in a good place.
That is a mark of a real good legislator.
So good for you.
I'd like to thank my colleagues as well.
I want to reiterate what the chair said regarding the staff.
I'd like to thank Sierra and Natasha and Ricky and Tanvir.
And with that, I enthusiastically vote yes.
