CM Hanks on sharing CompStat data with violence interrupters

New York City Council · Sep 16, 2026 · starts 1:13:37 · 1 min 2 sec

Hanks asks whether NYPD shares CompStat data with violence interrupters and nonprofit partners. Hout says precinct commanding officers share information with schools, school safety agents, and various partners, with detailed plans for youth violence corridors.

Kamillah Hanks

So that now leads me to my next question.

Kamillah Hanks

Comstat helps NYPD see crime increasing.

Kamillah Hanks

It's not clear whether NYPD shares the information with our violence interrupters or other nonprofit public safety partners.

Kamillah Hanks

So, and I think that that was part of your answer to my second question.

Kamillah Hanks

I think that we just kind of need to expand on how NYPD shares that information and what do partners receive and how quickly so we can work as a community together to make sure that everyone is safe.

So we share that information, like I said, with many different partners.

Each precinct, you know, the CEO has got to have a detailed plan involved in regards to youth violence in school corridors.

And we do share that information with the school and with the school safety agents.

Thank you so much.
