Morano: Air Force 79th birthday and POW/MIA Recognition Day
Morano acknowledges the 79th birthday of the U.S. Air Force and National POW/MIA Recognition Day, honoring generations of airmen and those who endured captivity, and encourages following DVS on social media for veteran commemorations.
Before I go to my colleagues, I meant to acknowledge this earlier, but this is, I want to say, happy 79th birthday to the United States Air Force.
We thank the generations of airmen who served our country with courage and distinction.
And today also happens to be National POW MIA Recognition Day, when we honor those who endured captivity and remember the American service members who remain missing.
We also recognize their families, many of whom have spent decades waiting for answers.
And I'll remind folks that if you want to know about any important veterans'commemorations or anniversaries within the city or state of New York, you should absolutely follow the Department of Veterans Services on social media.
