Council staff opens hearing with witness slip and decorum instructions
Council staff welcomes attendees, reminds them to fill out witness slips, says no food or drink is allowed, and asks everyone to turn off electronic devices. The Chair briefly notes open meetings laws before staff tells the Chair they are ready to begin.
There's like open meetings laws.
Good afternoon, everyone, and welcome to today's New York City Council hearing for the Committee on Education.
If you would like to testify, you must allow a witness slip with one of the sergeant arms, even if you signed up already online.
Just a reminder, there is no food or beverages allowed in this room, and please turn off all electronic devices.
Chair, we are ready to begin.
