My name is Danielle Junta, and I'm the first deputy chancellor of New York City Public Schools.
I'm joined today by my colleagues, Dr.
Alan Chang, supervising superintendent of high schools in District 79.
Jane Martinez-Dowling, Chief of Student Pathways.
Cordelia Veve, Chief of Curriculum and Instruction.
Katie Hansen, Executive Director of Academic Policy and Systems.
Sharon Rensher, Senior Executive Director of State and Federal Education Policy.
And planning, and Michael Preyer, our superintendent of Brooklyn South High Schools.
Thank you for the opportunity to talk about the implementation of New York Inspires and New York State's Portrait of a Graduate framework.
This statewide effort started back in 2019 with the New York State Blue Ribbon Commission on Graduation Measures, which brought together educators, students,
families, higher education leaders, employers, community representatives, to examine whether New York State's graduation system was preparing students for success in a rapidly changing world.
