Wong asks how CECs and families are engaged in implementation planning
Wong says CEC members and citywide councils have not been engaged in the process. Giunta says DOE is entering the next step of local CEC conversations and welcomes Sharon Rensher to describe prior outreach.
Sure.
Okay, I served in my school board for four years, and I still talk to the current CEC members regularly, and also citywide council and high schools.
I talk to them regularly, but I don't think anybody there has...
Has engaged in this process.
So my question for you is, how are you approaching them?
How are they being engaged in implementation planning?
And do you have a feedback mechanism exist for the families to wade in on local implementation decisions?
Please answer.
Sure.
I'm going to welcome Sharon Rensher in, who does our state partnerships, to talk about a lot of the outreach to date.
But I do want to acknowledge that that is exactly the moment we're in for our next step, is having more regular conversations at our local CEC meetings, but also, you know, the Chancellor and I and the Cabinet meet with our CEC presidents.
We used to join those also once a month.
And really making sure all of our structures, that this is a more prevalent conversation.
That is on tap and ready to go.
But there has been a tremendous amount of engagement that Sharon Renter has been a part of, especially in partnership with the state.
So I just want to give her the opportunity to just share a little bit about that.
