Q&A

Banks asks Dickey about six-month repair timeline; she cites backlog and paint ticket

New York City Council · Sep 22, 2026 · starts 0:31:01 · 54 sec

Banks asks why NYCHA told Dickey remaining repairs would not be finished until March 2027. Dickey says she was told they were backed up, had no appointments, and that an outstanding paint order had to be closed first.

Chris Banks

And, you know, when NITRA staff told you that the remaining repairs wouldn't be finished until March of 2027, a six month wait.

Chris Banks

What reason did they give you for that extreme timeline?

Chris Banks

And did they claim they were backed up in any work orders or that they were waiting on skill trades?

Member of the Public - Patricia Dickey

They was backed up and that they was also waiting, like, that there was actually no appointments available until then.

And then reason being, like, we had a paint order.

Member of the Public - Patricia Dickey

I had a paint order before to put them to paint my whole house that was outstanding.

Member of the Public - Patricia Dickey

No long, how long I was waiting for that.

And they told me that was the reason of being holed up because I had to have that canceled out.

Member of the Public - Patricia Dickey

So that took an additional two weeks to close because everyone kept sending me around calling this one just for somebody to close out a ticket.

Member of the Public - Patricia Dickey

So I can get the ticket in to match the work that needs to be done.
