Law-Gisiko says repair requests become relocation pressure and lists asks
Law-Gisiko says residents who resist relocation find repair requests turn into relocation conversations and delays. She asks the Council to establish who is responsible for each repair category and whether residents slated for relocation receive the same maintenance service.
There is another deeply troubling pattern.
Residents who have declined or resisted relocation report that when they submit repair requests, the conversation turns instead into relocation.
If I can have 30 more seconds, Mr.
Chair.
Thank you so much.
I appreciate it.
Tenants are asked again to move, even though they have already said that they do not wish to move.
And their repairs are delayed even beyond what is the average.
I will just wrap it up by saying that, you know, residents routinely describe an extraordinary lack of timely response.
Problems remain unresolved.
Calls are passed from one entity to the other.
Let me just skip all of that.
So, okay, so here are the asks that I would like to place in front of the city council.
I ask that the city council establish very concretely who is responsible today for every category of repair at Fulton and L.A.
Chelsea.
what services the Meanwhile or Bridge Plan is actually providing, building by building, how quickly work orders are being completed, and whether residents slated for relocation are receiving the same maintenance service as every other night shed tenant.
Thank you for your testimony.
Thank you.
All right.
Appreciate it.
Thank you.
