Carr asks about COIB or Law Department guidance on influencer disclosures
Carr asks whether the mayor's office or agencies received guidance from the Conflicts of Interest Board or Law Department on disclosing influencer relationships and preserving records; Smith-Cruz says COIB has not submitted any guidance to DORIS, and Van Auken says she lacks details.
Has the mayor's office or any agency saw guidance from COIB or the law department or any other entity on how to properly disclose any of these relationships to the public and what records should be preserved about communications with these influencers?
I don't have those details.
I would refer you.
And I could respond.
Thank you for the question related to records that would be retained.
Can you just ask that portion of the question again?
Sure.
So has the mayor's office or any agency, including, I guess, Doris, saw guidance from the Conflicts of Interest Board or the law department or any other entity
on how to properly disclose any of these relationships with social media influencers to the public and what records relating to those relationships or those communications should be preserved?
Thank you for that question.
I would say that the Conflicts of Interest Board has not submitted to us any guidance or any information related to this.
If it is created, then we would likely receive it at some point down the line when the records are transferred over.
But we haven't received anything.
So nothing on the end of Doris, but you couldn't speak to the other parts of city government?
No, I wouldn't be able to speak to those parts.
Thank you.
