Content creator Tyjuan Green says he was never paid and holds mayor accountable
Tyjuan Green, known as Mr. Fingers, a music producer and community organizer, states he has never been offered or accepted pay for content with the mayor's administration, has lost money covering events, was never directed on messaging, and told the mayor he would hold him accountable.
Good morning.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak.
My name is Tyjuan Green.
My handle is Mr.
Fingers.
I'm a music producer, educator, community organizer.
I would like to state for the record that I have never been offered or accepted to pay for any contact
I've done with the mayor administration.
In fact, I have lost money from calling out of work to cover events and press conferences.
I was never directed in any way on how to message my videos.
When I was contacted a year ago by a social media team, I still wasn't certain of who I was going to vote for.
After spending time around the then candidate and seeing his consistency every day, I started to believe he could really deliver change.
But that does not mean that I will agree with everything that he does.
I told him and his team I will hold him accountable.
He told me he wanted to be held accountable and earn the trust of New Yorkers.
They have never stopped me from asking any question, and I have criticized them on some videos.
Why am I doing this for free?
Because I never thought a person that comes from where I come from would ever have
the opportunity to have this type of access.
I believe it's my responsibility to sacrifice my time and my resources to educate myself and my followers about the political process and to record and report the full context of stories.
Traditional press may not have the time to ask questions that are related to Southeast Queens, but I will use this opportunity to do just that.
Thank you for your time.
I have to go.
Thank you very much.
Go ahead, sir.
