Lerner proposes disclosure for ongoing influencer relationships
Lerner suggests disclosure stating communication was initiated by or in partnership with the City of New York so residents know whether content is independent or results from talking points, which she agrees are substantive communications, and says Common Cause's written testimony offers amendments to strengthen the bills.
I would briefly like to say that when we're talking about influencers, I think we do need some disclosure about the ongoing.
Relationship and we suggest that a disclosure that says communication initiated by the city of New York or partnership with the city of New York provides information that the resident that the
taker of the social media needs to know
Is this really an independent communication, or does it result from suggestions like talking points, which are clearly, I agree,
substantive communications, however they are communicated to the social media communicators.
And our testimony has extensive suggestions for amendments and improvements to the bills, which we generally support, but we feel should be strengthened in specific ways that we detail in our written testimony.
Thank you.
Thank you very much.
