Chair Encarnación introduces Resolution 626 on Haiti TPS
Chair Encarnación introduces Resolution 626, sponsored by Council Member Farah Louis, calling on the U.S. Senate to pass S.4814 to designate Haiti for Temporary Protected Status. She notes Haiti's instability since the 2010 earthquake and says she is proud to co-sponsor the resolution.
Lastly, the Committee on Immigration will hear Resolution 626, sponsored by Councilmember Farrah Lewis, calling upon the United States Senate to pass and the President to sign
S.4814 to require the Secretary of Homeland Security to designate Haiti for temporary protective status.
Haiti has experienced a great deal of instability since the 2010 earthquake, including an epidemic, another earthquake, and tropical storm.
