Thomas-Henry questions applicant on business entity managing café
Chair Louis thanks the applicant and recognizes Council Member Thomas-Henry. Thomas-Henry asks for clarity on the entity managing outdoor dining, noting confusion between Tiro de Esquina and Cali Tajadas. Zuluaga explains the corporation started as Cali Tajadas 2 Corp and switched to Tiro de Esquina NYC Corp for a sports-bar concept.
Thank you.
I don't have any questions for the applicant.
I will now recognize Councilmember Thomas Henry for questions.
Good afternoon.
Good morning.
How are you doing?
My first question is in regards to just getting clarity on the entity that will be managing
this outside dining, because there is, I have Tiro de Esquina and then DBA
Calie Tejadas, and the way that business is set up, it appears that there's almost like two or three different entities or like,
What part of the business do you control and operate that will be managing the cafe?
Okay, so basically I'll tell you a little story about the business.
So we start the corporation as Cali Tejadas 2 Corp.
The concept of the cafe was to start selling some bakery concepts and expanding the business on the bakery side.
Unfortunately, the concept did not work.
So we then switched the corporation name to T-Row the Skinner NYC Corp.
As changing the concept of the restaurant to promote
this past World Cup, promoting to the football, the soccer, the sports concept.
So we began as Cali Tejadas, but then the corporation names changed to Tiro de Esquina.
So that's probably why the confusion or the name is getting mixed up together.
