Chair Louis clarifies no ambulatory care component
Chair Louis asks if the facility will be permanent residency only with no ambulatory component. Palatnik confirms it is proposed as long-term care, not short-term rehabilitation, though residents would receive care if injured on site.
I just want to piggyback off of a question Councilmember Felder just raised.
So this is permanent residency only, no ambulatory component whatsoever.
It's proposed to be a long-term care facility.
Okay.
So permanent in the sense is permanent as one can be in a long-term care facility.
But no ambulatory support on site.
That is not the purpose of this, no.
So the idea is that you're not going to go in there for a broken leg or something to recuperate.
That's not the vision.
What if you break your leg while you're in there?
Then you would have to...
Well, yeah, then you'll get treated.
But the idea is to bring people in that really can't live on their own and need medical support in their daily activities.
I understand that part.
I think...
I just want to make it clear for the record that there's no ambulatory support unless it's something.
Unless something happens in the facility and they need some care.
