Danzo thanks sponsors and asks Council to pass African Immigrant Heritage Month
Danzo thanks Council Member Althea Stevens for introducing the resolutions, all sponsors, and Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson's office for support. They ask the Council to pass the resolution and commit to working with the city, schools, cultural institutions, and young people to make African Immigrant Heritage Month meaningful, saying African immigrant history is New York history.
I want to thank Councilmember Atiyah Stevenson for introducing these resolutions and all of the sponsors.
I also want to recognize the Brunswick Borough President, Vanessa L.
Gibson, and her office for supporting this effort has reflected in the resolution.
On behalf of the African Advisory Council and the African Immigrant Community,
We represent, I mean, we represent, thank you for listening to our voices.
And organizing our contributions.
We look forward to working with the City Council and the Borough Presidents, the
community organization, schools, cultural institutions, and our young people to make African Immigrant Heritage Month a meaningful celebration for our culture, history, achievement, education, and unity.
New Yorker, that African immigrant history is New York history.
I want to say thank you for the opportunity to testify today.
I am respectfully asking the council to support this resolution, and thank you to every member sitting here today.
Thank you.
