Siddiqui Danzo introduces themselves and supports African Immigrant Heritage Month
Siddiqui Danzo introduces themselves as Chair of the African Advisory Council and a community leader representing African immigrants. They testify in strong support of Resolution 0607 declaring September African Immigrant Heritage Month, calling it recognition, representation, and an end to stigma.
Good morning, Chair, distinguished member of the New York City Council.
My name is Siddiqui Danzo.
I'm honored to appear before you today as the Chair of the African Advisory Council and as a community leader representing the African immigrant community.
I'm here today to speak in strong support of the resolution 0607, declaring September as African Immigrant Heritage Month.
For many of us, there is more than a resolution.
There is a recognition and representation, which is a stigma that African immigrants are important and part of the history of New York City.
