Chair Williams transitions to Puerto Rico testimony; introduces Senator Gonzalez Costa
Chair Williams jokes about walking and chewing gum, then transitions to the Puerto Rico resolutions. She introduces Senator Adrian Gonzalez Costa, who is joining from Puerto Rico on Zoom.
Thank you.
How many people can walk and chew gum at the same time?
Nobody?
Okay, well, life will force you.
And with that said, we're going to just walk.
and chew gum at the same time, because while this hearing is an oversight hearing about our research collections, we are also hearing some very important resolutions, and we do have a senator from
Puerto Rico on the Zoom, and as many elected officials know, I'm sure his schedule is extremely busy.
So we are gonna go to Senator Adrian Gonzalez Costa, who is joining us from Puerto Rico on Zoom.
Well, thank you very much, and thank you for the privilege of addressing to you and as a, you know, as a senator.
Good morning, Chair and members of the New York City Council.
My name is Adrian Gonzalez Costa, and I have the honor of appearing before you as a senator of the Puerto Rican Independence Party, representing the people of Puerto Rico as a senator at large.
I come before you today to express my strong support for the resolutions addressing Project Essencia, the Financial Oversight and Management Board, and the repeal of Act 22 of 2012.
