Golia discusses programming and research center
Golia describes the 'Live from NYPL' series and 'Library After Hours' events. She also highlights the Vartan Gregorian Center for Research in the Humanities, which offers scholar residencies and fellowships.
The Schwarzman Building oversees robust engagement with the public and researchers alike.
Live from NYPL is the library's premier public programming series, bringing prominent writers, artists, intellectuals, and public figures to the library for discussions and stage appearances.
Past programs have featured Lina Khan and Jay-Z.
And our current fall calendar includes Hilton Alls, George Saunders, and Jill Lepore, among others.
Our Library After Hours series connects patrons to research libraries'collections through
through themed, curated building takeovers, often billed as the library's most cerebral happy hour.
Topics range from children's literature to Pride Month.
The Shoresman Building also offers extensive resources and opportunities for researchers and scholars through our Vartan Gregorian Center for Research in the Humanities, which serves as a hub for an array of research resources and services aimed at
fostering scholarly practice.
Specific offerings include a scholar residency program with up to 350 scholars working across five study rooms with tailored collection access,
eight short to long-term research fellowships and public classes, and primary source educational experiences designed to turn scholars and beginners into researchers.
From the Gutenberg Bible to Declaring America to a fellowship recipient deep in research to a young New Yorker standing in line for the city's most cerebral happy hour,
the Shoresman Building is where extraordinary scholarship and open public access are one and the same.
