Stephen Ferst details paused CSI agreements with Israeli universities
Ferst says around 2018 CSI developed agreements with four Israeli universities, some offering up to $6,000 per semester scholarships. The agreements were interrupted by the pandemic and then the war, but he maintains relationships and says CSI is ready to resume when safe.
Okay, yeah, please.
And if I'll just continue.
So circa 2018 or so, CSI was aggressive in picking up the pieces of opportunities for students to study in Israel, beginning
conversations and agreements with four Israeli universities to ensure that students had broad access.
Some of those institutions were actually going to give significant scholarships to CUNY students upwards of $6,000 a semester to go.
That was interrupted first by the pandemic.
Then we went back on track to start our agreements again, and yet then interrupted again by the war that is currently happening.
And so because of the State Department warning levels, because of the safety regulations,
We have had those on pause.
I will say I continue to maintain those relationships.
I myself studied at Haifa University in Israel.
I go back to all of my colleagues.
We talk about when we're going to be ready.
We have everything ready to go.
We have all of our marketing material ready to go.
We have all of our agreements ready to go.
When it's safe for us to send students, we will.
Absolutely be resuming sending students to Israel through CUNY.
