Gutiérrez asks Raquel Grimilla about music programs
Gutiérrez asks about the music program Grimilla mentioned. Grimilla says private daycares bring in music teachers and she wants similar weekly, biweekly, or monthly programs in public settings.
Miss Raquel, you said in your testimony that you were retired.
There is nothing about you today that sounds retired in that testimony.
But I do love that you highlighted music as a second language.
What are, are there specific, is there a specific program that you're speaking of?
And did you work in West Los Niños or you just know them from the neighborhood?
I worked at PS250, which is in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
And no, I didn't work, my granddaughter goes to West Los Niños, but she had gone to a private daycare.
And they used to have a music, and I understand there are other private daycare programs where they have the music teacher come in and do like a weekly or biweekly or monthly activity.
And, you know, in the public sector, you know, we can't do that.
It's kind of expensive.
Teachers aren't even getting paid, so we can't get, you know.
You know, hopefully things can get resolved.
Okay.
Thank you.
Well, thank you.
And you're welcome back anytime.
Thank you so much.
Thank you.
Beautiful.
