Council Member Riley questions Bronx participation and job creation
Kevin Riley thanks the panel and says $2 billion is impressive but is disappointed the Bronx had only 28 participating businesses. He asks about local hiring and the types of occupations created during the World Cup.
Thank you, Chairs, for this meeting.
Thank you so much for the panel.
I just want to echo the sentiments of my colleagues, especially Councilman Banks.
I think you guys did a tremendous job.
And under a limited time, $2 billion investments is amazing.
I am a little bit disappointed being from the Bronx that 28 was the number that we were given.
I think.
Opportunities for out-of-borough connection when we have large-scale events like this needs to be a little bit more fleshed out.
We have beautiful communities in the city.
The Bronx, City Island alone took a lot of people there during this time.
So I just wanted to share that sentiment and see how we could, I guess, connect in the future when we see the Olympics coming here on how we can make that a little bit better.
