Honda says city in conversations about FIFA legacy and soccer pitches
Honda says she is not sure if the city formally requested the $1 million from FIFA but says conversations about legacy are ongoing. She says the host committee is building pitches and the city wants accessible opportunities to play.
I can get you more information.
I'm not sure if we've formally requested it from FIFA, that we've been in conversation about legacy.
And I know that the host committee is building many pitches and has built at least, I can let them answer that question, but
many pitches are in the process of being built in the five boroughs and would add that we're in ongoing conversations about what the legacy of the World Cup looks like, both from the infrastructure perspective and from the investment perspective.
And we'll note that we absolutely want to make sure that
a legacy invests in accessible opportunities to play for New Yorkers.
Absolutely.
